German engineering company sets up in Copenhagen

The German engineering company ITAS GmbH establishes new Scandinavian branch. ITAS GmbH, which is headquartered in Salzgitter south of Hanover, specializes in renovation of underground pipelines and before settling in Denmark the company visited a number of Danish municipalities, which in the future face a massive renovation of their sewerage. Moreover, the company aims to work with manufacturing companies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

- The company has a first-class product for which the market potential on the Danish and the Scandinavian market is very good. The Copenhagen-based office will act as a sales and consulting office for the entire Nordic market”, states Jørgen Jessen, Business Development Manager at Copenhagen Capacity.

The contact between ITAS and Copenhagen Capacity was established at one of the business days which are periodically organized in Germany by Sorensen Connecting Markets and Copenhagen Capacity.

At that occasion ITAS GmbH initially accepted the offer of an hour's free advice on the feasibility of establishing a business in Denmark. However, the initial meeting led to several meetings and later a visiting program in Copenhagen where contact was established to relevant advisers and potential customers. Both Norway and Sweden were in the picture as a possible location of the office, but the choice fell on Copenhagen.
